BE has four kits coming out or that have come out that are in the $50-something dollar range - The Surprise, Happiness, Jewel, and Beautiful in Pearls. They are coming out at slightly different times through the fall, but I've grouped them together because they cost approximately the same amount and have similar components. They are all beautiful and so, so tempting.
I've been to Sephora and the Boutique to swatch Surprise (infused with Hematite) and Happiness (infused with Happybelle) multiple times. Happiness seems more for cool toned ladies and Surprise is neutral enough that cool and warm toned ladies can use it. I think the picture of the Happiness kit is a perfect example of how a kit can look one way in a picture but actually be something different. I found the colors to be much lighter in person. The Happybelle in the Happiness kit is supposed to be a natural mood elevator. Isn't that a cute idea?? There is a brush in the Surprise kit called the Line Diffuser brush that's supposed to be awesome (It's the smallest one in the picture), and the colors were neutral and sparkly, which I really like.
I'm not sure if the Jewel kit is out yet (infused with various types of precious stones), but some people have it already from a pre-sale event and some people have seen it in store. It's not on Ulta's website yet. It's an Ulta exclusive though, so it wasn't too hard not to buy it. Surprise, Happiness and Jewel each have a ticket that enters you into a contest. The grand prize is a lifetime supply of foundation, and there are also a few other unspecified prizes.
Beautiful in Pearls is available only through QVC and has a auto-delivery option. Click on the link to check out the pictures! They are just beautiful! This is the kit I considered most seriously. The swatches and looks I've seen around the web make it look like a great kit for warm toned ladies. I thought about this kit for a really, really, really long time. It is infused with real pearls and BE is doing some heavy cross-promotion with Honora on QVC; they teamed up and have several other pearly goodies coming out next month. The box is can be saved and used as a picture frame too!
I ultimately decided to pass on all of these kits so that I could buy something else. It was a really tough decision though. I really wanted to be entered into the contest, I really love neutral colors, I really want to do a QVC AD at some point, and I really love pearls. The biggest problem for me was that the colors didn't wow me enough, and based on swatches, I have colors that look fairly similar already.
It took a really long time, but I talked myself out of these kits.
